Wood Chips and Mulch

According to the Arbor Day Foundation, mulch is "A tree's best friend". We sell wood chips (mulch) that are created from our tree service. They are sold by the truckload at a price far less than you can normally purchase them. The truck carries 10-12 yards of wood chips at a time. The wood chips are clean and natural colored.

Placing wood chips around the base of your trees can be beneficial in many ways. According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR), some of the benefits of mulching with wood chips are: Wood Chips and Mulch

  • Saves Labor - no weeding, less time watering

  • Saves Water - far less watering needed, and more rain absorption

  • Safer - no need for chemical weed killers or herbicides

  • Stimulates growth - mulched trees grow faster than unmulched trees

  • Makes trees more resistant to disease and insects

  • Eliminates injury to trunk from mower collisions

  • Nourishes the soil by adding nutrients as it decomposes

  • Eliminates the need for tilling and resultant root injury

  • Increase earthworm population resulting in better aeration

Woodchips/Mulch
Woodchips are sold by the truckload only. We will deliver a 10-12 yard load to your home for $150.00. Our delivery area is limited to the northern suburbs.

There will be an additional charge of $30.00 for returned checks

According to the DNR website; you should "Mulch all new plantings at planting time. Existing trees may be mulched any time chips are available." They also include the following tip: "A local tree service with a chipper may have chipped up limbs and tree tops available. These chips make ideal mulch at little or no cost." The main benefit is that the wood chips hold moisture and provide nutrition for the trees, to keep them healthy and help them grow. An added benefit is that the wood chips keep the grass from growing which makes it easier to mow your lawn.

Wood chips may also be used as mulch between plants in your garden, for landscaping, pathways, playgrounds, etc. The many ways you can use wood chips are amazing!
